Serbia,
here are some insights into Dusan Trajkovic's life, work, interests and what makes
him
tick.

|
An affair with the arts
|
|
Arts, music, film and literature have always been an intrinsic part of Dusan's life,
inspiring and delighting him. Biased to western classics, Dusan is a huge fan of Wes
Anderson's visual style, his use of symmetry and color, and the genius storytelling
and
dialogues of Woody Allen. An amateur musician himself, he loves Jazz Manouche,
Django
Reinhardt's music.

Colour grading, a serendipity
|
|
Not satisfied with the legal world, Dusan stumbled upon colour grading by happy
accident. Having quit his job as a lawyer, a trip to Thailand, shooting and
immersing
himself in the process of visual documentation, post production, editing, and
compiling
led Dusan to colour grading. After tinkering around on his own, he approached some
clients who were fortunately willing to work with him. Work emerged; some of it
experimental, some successful, all of it a learning curve.

On skills, themes and project brief
|
Color grading has made Dusan look at the world more attentively. Watching how
different filmmakers approach and incorporate certain visual DNA of the film
through
production design and use of color brings special attention to lighting
conditions
during different times of day, weather conditions, harshness and softness,
luminosity and how colors and shapes are perceived differently in different
lights,
all of which inform his work. When asked about how he approaches a project,
Dusan
says,
"A project brief to me means going beyond the technical specs with the client,
director, cinematographer. I like to know the story, intention, style and look
being
envisioned. I welcome a variety of projects and formats, everything is a new
opportunity to create, learn and expand."

Dusan says, "I am

Colours have different meanings, symbolisms and connotations in different places
and
cultures. From my travels and international experiences I have discovered that
geographic location, topography, light and weather are just as significant as
food,
festivals, language, rituals and cultural practices." All of these
parameters
come together to make a place, and tell a story. India, a land of many languages and
cultures, is also a global hub, a hotspot for modern and versatile creativity. NUBE
is
